Living and working on Lake Buchanan in Llano County lends itself to many inspiring images from around the Texas Hill Country. I work in a small studio with a view of the lake, the birds, the deer and the wildflowers nearby. Oh, and three cats are always lurking nearby.
I enjoy a quiet life, exploring the many ways to create pottery, having success and failure, and constantly evolving my work. I like changing direction in my work all the time, so, every piece is one-of-a-kind. Thanks for visiting. "It's Evolution, baby!" - Pearl jam
Have trouble pronouncing the name? Many people do....
Riordan is an Irish name and is pronounced "reer" + "don". Meaning: From ri "king" and bardan "poet" it means "royal poet." In Irish tradition the poet was highly regarded in any royal household as he acted as scholar, historian and adviser to the king. Meowser Photobombs a Pottery Photo Session

Lake Buchanan is not a constant level lake, as it feeds water down to the south for the city of Austin and rice farmers further down. Things are always changing as the lake goes up and down and it's all a wonderment. These photos were taken from my deck or within a mile of my home during different phases and seasons.
